I can’t rationalize a Leica (as you can see from this photo, I am not exactly a photographer), so I keep his Seiko on display in connection. He wasn’t really a “watch guy,” but he always had a good Seiko (and a Leica) and those are the things I associate with him in my memory. Seiko Chronograph Alarm 7T32-6B60: This was my Opa’s watch. I legitimately wear it all the time and my wife hates how loud it ticks. It's amazing, they even picked out this hideous custom rainbow strap for it. Swatch! My kids got this for me for father's day.

Bonus picture of the Gagarin photo on the back here ) Sturmanskie Gagarin: I love space, this is a tribute to what might be the original space watch (there’s some debate on this), and it’s a fun piece. Ignore the fact that while I owned some interesting watches while on active duty, I primarily wore PX cheapos at work ( I also wore a Garmin 301 in the field and on deployment, but that’s not really a watch). Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical: This watch came out not long after I left the Army, and it made sense as a celebration of my time kicking doors and jumping out of airplanes. My current collection, from top left to bottom right. I buy and sell pieces quite a bit, but I think all of these are keepers. Using my display (okay, winder, but it’s a display primarily) to show the entire collection made a lot more sense in my head, but the glare defeated me.
